We’ll be waiting for you at Cusco Airport to give you a warm welcome and take you straight to your hotel. Once you’ve had time to settle in and start acclimating, your adventure officially begins.
In the afternoon, around 1:30 p.m., we’ll pick you up for a guided city tour. This half-day experience takes you to some of the most iconic Inca sites in and around Cusco.
First, we visit Qoricancha, once the most important temple in the Inca Empire. Then, we head to the impressive Sacsayhuamán fortress, famous for its massive stone walls. After that, we explore Q’enqo, Puca Pucara, and Tambomachay. Each site shows a different side of Inca culture, from sacred rituals to brilliant engineering.
Throughout the tour, your guide will share stories and insights that make history come alive.
To wrap up your first day, enjoy a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. It’s a great chance to relax, meet your group, and get excited about the days ahead.
After breakfast, we’ll pick you up between 6:45 and 7:00 a.m. for a full-day adventure through the Sacred Valley, once the heart of Inca agriculture.
Our first stop is Chinchero. Here, you’ll enjoy a colorful demonstration of traditional weaving. Local women will show how alpaca wool is spun, dyed with natural colors, and turned into beautiful textiles.
Next, we visit the circular terraces of Moray. These impressive ruins may have served as a farming laboratory. Then, we explore the Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of white pools cover the mountain, creating a one-of-a-kind view. Afterwards, we head to Urubamba for a tasty buffet lunch. It’s a perfect chance to relax and recharge.
In the afternoon, we visit Ollantaytambo, a unique town where Inca culture is still alive. You’ll explore its stone terraces and learn about its strategic role during Inca times.
Finally, you’ll board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes. Once you arrive, we’ll take you to your hotel so you can rest. In the evening, enjoy dinner while your guide explains the plan for your Machu Picchu visit.
Wake up early for one of the most unforgettable moments of your trip: Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
After breakfast, you’ll take the bus up the mountain. You’ll arrive around 6:00 a.m.—just in time to watch the sunrise over the Inca citadel. This early start gives you the chance to explore before the site gets crowded.
Next, enjoy a 2-hour guided tour through temples, terraces, and ceremonial plazas. Along the way, your guide will share stories about Inca engineering, daily life, and their strong spiritual bond with nature.
After the guided tour, you’ll have free time to wander the ruins on your own. If you have time, you can also stop by the Machu Picchu Museum on your way back to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, board the train to Ollantaytambo. There, your private transfer will be waiting to take you back to Cusco. You’ll arrive at your hotel around 8:00 p.m., depending on the train schedule.
Get ready for an early start! We’ll pick you up at 4:30 a.m. for a scenic drive into the Andes. On this day, you’ll choose between two unforgettable hikes: the Seven Lagoons of Ausangate or Humantay Lake. Both options offer stunning views and a deep connection with nature.
We head to the village of Pacchanta, where a traditional Andean breakfast awaits. Then, begin a 12 km round-trip hike through wide open landscapes, all above 4,000 meters. Along the way, visit seven glacial lagoons in shades of turquoise, blue, and green.
You’ll pass herds of alpacas and llamas with the impressive Ausangate Glacier as a backdrop. This experience is ideal for travelers seeking something unique. After the hike, enjoy a warm lunch and, if you’d like, relax in natural hot springs before returning to Cusco. You’ll arrive around 6:30 p.m.
This route takes you through dramatic valleys at the base of the mighty Salkantay Mountain. From the trailhead, begin a moderate uphill hike to reach Humantay Lake. Its bright turquoise waters and peaceful setting make it a must-see.
If you prefer an easier walk, horses are available to rent. After taking in the view and enjoying lunch surrounded by nature, we drive back to Cusco. Arrival is expected around 5:30 p.m.
Start your final day of adventure with an early pick-up between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m. We’ll head south toward the vibrant slopes of Rainbow Mountain, also known as Vinicunca.
Along the way, enjoy a light breakfast before beginning the hike. The trail takes you through stunning Andean scenery—think red valleys, unique rock formations, and herds of llamas and alpacas roaming freely. The hike takes about 1.5 hours each way and reaches over 5,000 meters in elevation.
At the summit, take in the breathtaking view of Rainbow Mountain. This is one of the most iconic and photographed landscapes in all of Peru. If you prefer an easier journey, horses are available for rent at the base of the trail.
After some time to enjoy the view and snap unforgettable photos, we descend for a well-earned lunch. Then, we return to Cusco. Arrival is expected between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. You’ll be dropped off at Plaza Regocijo, just two blocks from the main square—perfect for heading back to your hotel or exploring a bit more.
Although this is your last guided excursion, your trip doesn’t have to end just yet. Feel free to keep discovering Cusco on your own. On your departure day, we’ll coordinate your airport transfer according to your flight time, making sure your goodbye is smooth and stress-free of this 5 day adventure in Cusco.
We offer daily departures for this complete 5-day experience. Cusco has two main seasons: the dry season (May to October) and the rainy season (November to April). If you’re traveling between November and April, expect brief afternoon showers. Daytime temperatures range between 17°C and 20°C, while nights can be cold, especially in the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu area, with lows of 5°C to 10°C. Pack layers for varying weather conditions.

Cusco is located at 3,400 meters above sea level. We recommend arriving at least a day before your tour begins to acclimate. Drink coca tea, avoid heavy meals the first night, and rest well. Most travelers feel fully adapted by the second or third day.

This tour covers key highlights:
Want to add an extra hike? You can book in advance the Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain. Both offer panoramic views but require separate tickets and those should be booked within 2 monts in advance as well.
Although not mandatory, we highly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, and medical attention at high altitude.
This itinerary is ideal for travelers of all ages who want a rich cultural experience without multi-day trekking. Optional day hikes like Humantay or Rainbow Mountain can be done on horseback if needed.
